Fiberglass pools are an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional (concrete) pools. Fiberglass pools are factory manufactured one-piece shells made of fiberglass layers, resin, and coated with a gel coat with a non-porous surface similar to cars, boats, and pool slides. Fiberglass pools come in a variety of shapes and sizes and feature a variety of tile patterns, fiber optic lighting, and in-floor cleaning systems. Fiberglass pools are characterized by low energy consumption. Energy consumption is defined as "the total amount of energy required to deliver the raw product to the product being produced". Fiberglass pools are a good insulator against heat and cold. Fiberglass helps save energy while reducing operating costs. Fiberglass pools are made of a super durable material with an unlimited life cycle. This eliminates replacement costs and costly repairs. You won't see a fiberglass pool like a broken concrete structure in a landfill.

The main component of a fiberglass pool is fiberglass, which is obtained from sand which is an abundant resource. Fiberglass pools use less chlorine and other chemicals, compared to concrete pools whose interiors are smooth and inert. Fiberglass pools do not emit chemicals into the pool water or the soil behind them. Concrete pools emit alkaline, calcium, lye, and other chemicals into the pool water and adjacent soil.

Don't deplete your pool! Fiberglass pools are designed to be filled with water at all times. If the pool is not drained in the correct direction, water or ground pressure on the outside of the pool may cause the structure to partially or completely bend or break, or even pop out of the ground. If it becomes necessary to drain the pool, perform pool repairs or replace water, you may contact a builder or service company to do so at your own risk or your own risk. Whether or not damage will occur when draining a fiberglass pool is certainly not absolute, especially for those who have the equipment and knowledge to get the job done safely and quickly. For best operation, keep the water level in the center of the rectangular separator plate on the pool wall. A low water level may cause the circulation pump to lose filling capacity, which could result in pump damage. High water levels can reduce or eliminate oil skimming effectiveness.

Surface care

Pool wall cleaners or other nonabrasive commercial tile or vinyl cleaners will easily remove "bathtub" rings that form on pool walls or tiles from body oils, sunscreen, and airborne contaminants. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, metal scrapers, brushes, or tools as they may permanently damage the gel coat surface. The gel coat surface of fiberglass tubs may be scratched like any other glossy surface. The gel coat is seven to eight times thicker than a normal paint coat, so scratches will not exceed the surface coating. A dull and faded gel coat at the waterline can be repaired with strong-cut car polish, either power sprayed or hand-applied, followed by a coat of wax. If this does not help, the perimeter pool tiles can be installed into the fiberglass pool using silicone adhesive and silicone grout.
